• It can progress to more severe condition. The tissues surrounding the Eustachian tube may swell due to an upper respiratory infection.
• Children are found more prone to otitis media because of their shorter Eustachian tube. Children’s tube is less stiff and narrower also. • Antibiotics: most of the cases get rid of by the above mentioned measures; otherwise antibiotics are used to treat the condition although they leave adverse effects.
• Tympanostomy tube: this treatment is applied on some chronic cases that got affected 6 or 4 times in a year
• Alternative therapies: sometimes other treatments which are not proved in the medical science are used to treat.
