Local versus international

The common customers for buying cars have been in tough to untangle dilemma: going with the local car dealer or choosing an international brand. The advantages and disadvantages are in both parties and the dispute can go on and on, but for starters the term local depends more on its geographical sense than any other. So local dealer for cars, for example European could mean international dealer as well, since any brand for car is available at a couple of minutes drive away. Regardless of the brand desiderate, like Volvo, Volkswagen or Rover, the dealers have it in store. Still, even if you live in Alaska or North Pole, I am confident that there is at least one local dealer that can bring you any car model of any brand in the world.

The main advantage of international brands of car dealer is that these benefit of reputation asset and positive recommendations over the decades. So these seem more worthy to trust than some local dealer that only has a couple of years experience in selling cars and most of the products displayed in his auto park are second hand automobiles. On the other hand there are local dealers for cars but with the back up bound built in time with the main car providers and vendors with worldwide reputation. Since we got on this argument, the best option would be midways - a strong partnership between international trusted brands and local dealers in order to have happy satisfied customers. The other face of this argument would mean the local dealers would have to share profits with the big names in the business of cars vending since these would be seen only as distributors. In the end, it comes down to profit sharing, which means less money on both sides. There lies the problem that prevented this in the past to realize. Even in the present when the car vending businesses have been gravely damaged by the world expanding financial crisis.

A side effect of being an international renowned car vendor and producer is that the used cars market becomes reserved for the local smaller car dealer that can afford to present to its customers old cars. Unexpectedly this aspect doesn’t put the local dealers in a positive light, because the vending of used or second hand cars, even if it comes with a significant difference in price, is object for skeptical customers that think of increased risk of fraud. It might be true, but the customers would better check the facts first before thinking either ways.

A special trade sector is dedicated to the exquisite unique models of cars. For example, regardless of your geographic location, if you have the money and like own a gorgeous model of Ferrari or Bentley or Lamborgini, then you might want to take it from the source. The dealers that sell these unique models of cars don’t need many skills for vending since the car speaks for itself. All the car dealer needs to have is a shiny card, the keys to the car and to supply the pen for the customer to sign the contract. This asset will never come in the hands of a local dealer.
